Tholora
Tholora, known also as the Divine Parasite, is a unique brimsanguid that roams throughout the world. She is the origin of vampirism in Karvaea.
Belonging to an ancient species of brimsanguid, Tholora is the sole surviving individual. There are no historical records that make reference to any other individual of the species aside from Tholora; it can be assumed they had all died off long before the formation of society.
Tholora is approximately 3 meters tall and 2.5 meters long and covered in black feathers. This is except for her face, which is shielded by a chitin mask that covers her mouth when not feeding or fighting. She has two red eyes that see through triangular holes on either side of her mouth opening. There are five horns on Tholora's mask: two on top, and three below. Along her back to the tip of her tail are cnidarian-like tentacles. Tholora has 8 toes on each foot, with 4 splayed out to either side.
With little interest in fighting without provocation, Tholora is not often hostile to anything that encounters her. But, this does not make her defenseless: aside from physical attacks, Tholora is in possession of a bias towards fire magic, and considered to be among the most proficient magic users throughout all of Karvaea.
Employing her brimsanguid biology, Tholora is capable of spitting her sulfurblood and igniting it with fire magic. If one does not have a bias towards fire magic themselves, being drenched in her blood can be considered a death sentence. If she decides to take a fight seriously, Tholora will ignite herself on fire and reveal her mouth.
It is not exceedingly rare for fetchers to come into contact with Tholora during an outbreak of vampirism—particularly during a culling to feed. In these circumstances, a majority of guilds urge fetchers to disengage for as long as Tholora is present. There is no restriction against an attempt to slay her, but there is no reward either.
Fury dragon
Fury dragons, sometimes simply furies, are a species of brimsanguid in Karvaea. They are considered to be the strongest creatures in the world. A fury dragon's aura alone is enough to turn skies quiet and paralyze any other creature that bears witness to them.
